Team Pakistan is currently on a tour to South Africa where they have played three T20s already. The series also includes 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches which will be played on the scheduled dates. The team have lost T20 series with 2-0 with the last match being abandoned due to rain. Two out of the three ODIs have also been played and team Pakistan have won both of them – bagging the ODI series already. The last ODI is to be played on 22nd December.
Although they won the ODI series their performance in T20 was below par. As per T20 ranking, Babar has moved up to sixth spot in ICC ranking while Muhammad Rizwan, who is currently the captain of Pakistan Cricket Team has been dropped from sixth to eighth position after scoring 11 runs off 13 balls in the second T20. Other than these two, no other batsmen from Pakistan Cricket Team can be found even near the top rankings of ICC.
Saim Ayub, who is a very talented player and emerging star for Pakistan, has recently broken the record of Brian Lara. He is become the youngest batsmen to score a century in an ODI against South Africa. The young lad has also proven his talent against ODI matches played against Australia and South Africa previously despite them being the strongest teams. Though his performance is great in the ODIs, his talent is yet to be witnessed in the T20 matches. However, he has stilled managed to make a massive jump from 58th position to the 45th .
Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf also fell to 21th and 26th position due to their below average performances in the T20 series.
